Mindfulness meets the Holidays
Finding Joy and Connection at the Holiday Bazaar
This past weekend, Living Mindfully, LLC joined the Indian Creek Middle School Holiday Bazaar — and what a beautiful reminder it was of community, creativity, and connection. Our table was filled with meaningful gifts designed to encourage mindfulness, gratitude, and self-care — the very things that help us stay grounded during the busyness of the holiday season.
Meaningful Gifts That Give Back to Your Mind
Visitors loved our cozy shirts and blankets featuring the original Christmas tree design — a tree made entirely of positive mental health words. It’s more than décor; it’s a gentle reminder that growth, peace, and resilience come from nurturing what’s good within us.
We also showcased The Joy Jar, one of our most beloved mindfulness tools. The concept is simple but powerful: each day (or whenever the mood strikes), write down something that brought you joy, gratitude, or a sense of peace. Over time, these small moments become a collection of reminders that beauty exists even in life’s ordinary days.
Our brains are naturally wired for survival, which means they’re constantly scanning for threats and negatives. This can make it easy to miss the good right in front of us. The Joy Jar helps retrain the brain to notice what’s working — the laughter, the small wins, the moments that make your heart feel full — and to build a more balanced, hopeful mindset.
Self-Care with Heart
One of my favorite parts of the day was sharing the homemade lip gloss my daughter and I made together — a simple project that turned into a sweet reminder of what self-care really means. With winter weather setting in, taking time to nurture yourself (even in small ways like hydrating your lips) is an act of kindness toward your body and mind.
We also featured all three of my mindfulness books — Mindfulness Basics: An 8-Week Guided Journal, Mindfulness Basics: Grounding Games, and the Holiday Edition — each created to help you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with gratitude.
A Season for Mindful Giving
Being part of the bazaar reminded me that mindful living isn’t just about personal growth — it’s also about community, creativity, and sharing tools that help others find peace in their own way.
If you couldn’t make it to the event, you can still explore these mindful gifts and resources on our website. Whether it’s a Joy Jar for your desk, a cozy blanket for a loved one, or a guided journal to begin the new year with intention — each item was created with love and the hope that it brings calm to your season.
